Sunday 14th April 2019 we had a total of 10 people participate in the Chirnside Park to Warburton run. The weather was just perfect with plenty of sunshine and just a nip in the air. After meeting at Chirnside Park we headed off towards Lilydale travelling through Lilydale onto the Lilydale- Monbulk road towards Mount Evelyn then onto the Silvan road to Silvan. At Silvan we turned onto the Warburton Highway through Woori Yallock, Yarra Junction onto our lunch destination at Warburton. On the way Barry and Rosslyn Smith were nearly involved in a nasty accident when a 4 wheel drive made a U turn in front of them. Just as well they were in the 1982 Mercedes 380 SL which has ABS braking and with plenty of tyre smoke avoided a collision. Arriving at Warburton we strolled through the many shops and galleries in the main street before arriving at our lunch destination at The River View Café. We were seated outside on the deck and enjoyed the view over the river and a great lunch. After lunch people headed home at their leisure.
